Summary0003250: Changed output_handler=ob_gzhandler in PHP.INI and now pages wont load complete
DescriptionI forget what the change was made but it was either to or from
output_handler =ob_gzhandler
inside php.ini file on the server.

Pages load so much faster now and CPU usage is down but now PHPLIST app wont work correctly. After I login the page loads just the header and then keeps refreshing. I can go directly to certain pages in PHPLIST that just seem to list static content but the moment I get to a page that lists dynamic content it keeps refreshing and wont show the whole page. Any idea what could be causing this problem?

It has to do with the change to the PHP.INI file but I don't want to return to the previous settings since the server runs so much faster now.

can you search for all instances of "ob_" in the code and comment them out? I think that may help

Michiel,
I have commented out all instances of "ob_" throughout phplist. This seems to work great now. But there were some files that I didnt know what to do. Like this example:

plugins/function.eval.php
line 34

// ob_start();
  $smarty->_eval('?>' . $_var_compiled);
  $_content = ob_get_contents();
// ob_end_clean();

There are several instances of "ob_get_contents()" that seemed to have other variables depending on it so I didn't comment them out. I just hope I never encounted those scripts in my use of PHPlist. What is your take on this. Should I comment out that whole line (ie "// $_content = ob_get_contents();")?
Thanks for your help.

I think you're mixing up code here. There is no reference to smarty in phplist, but you might be looking at phpBB in this case where it is used.

Good to hear that fixed the problem. I think it's a great idea by the way, so I will try to find time to make it work in the next release automatically (even if you don't switch it on in php.ini).
