|Summary||0019145: Add advisory text for editing confirmation email content regarding data protection|
|Description||Add advisory text telling admins that they should edit the default confirmation email content to include the additional ways in which subscriber data will be used. The GDPR regulation requires informed consent, meaning that the subscriber should be clearly told why their data is being used, e.g. for marketing, advertising, or operational purposes. Some phpList users will use the data for other purposes, perhaps including delivery of data to third party services. In such cases the confirmation email content should state these additional data uses.|
The advisory could be added to either or both of the settings page field "Subject of the message subscribers receive when they sign up" or to the edit subscribe page field "Content of message subscribers receive when they subscribe" (in the 'transactional messages' section).
Example of the advisory text could be: "Note: Customise this message to state the additional ways in which you will use your subscriber data. Read more". The "Read more" link can link to a page on phpList.org to be published in future explaining GDPR compliance best practices.
