Summary0017390: Update translations - Unable to fetch list of languages
DescriptionWhen I want to update the translations of my installation I get following Error:

Error: Unable to fetch list of languages, please check your network or try again later
Additional InformationI could fix it, when I discovered that the URL of the XML-File is being moved.

I changed admin/init.php on line 156:
define('TRANSLATIONS_XML','http://translate.phplist.com/translations.xml');

to:
define('TRANSLATIONS_XML','https://translate.phplist.com/translations.xml');

It is important to use the SSL-Connection, else it gets an error 301 (Moved Permanently).

rata, maybe until we have a new version, shall we not force SSL on the translate site?

Okay, I removed the redirect now!

But on the new version, maybe we should not only connect to https but follow redirects. Isn't there any good reason not to follow them ?

yes, good idea. No there's no reason to not follow a 302. In fact, an fopen in PHP should do that natively.

Any news on this ? I'd like, if possible (no real rush, just to forget about this), to add the HTTP --> HTTPS redirect again.

I've updated the code
https://github.com/michield/phplist/commit/ed21bf2ecd9397c12e0ca575e356b2451be64604

but it's not sufficiently urgent to release a new version. There are quite a few other things I want to do first.

I will remind you when it can be redirected again.
