|0016730||phpList 3 application||Subscribe Process||public||05-12-12 19:31||25-05-13 20:14|
|Fixed in Version||2.11.9|
|Summary||0016730: Email send to existing subscribers|
|Description||If a user who is already subscribed to a list, puts their email address in the form, it will send them an email asking them to confirm their subscription. This will also resend the confirmation email when clicked.|
Some mechanism should be put in place to stop a registered user from being able to sign up for the same list again. They do not actually sign up a second time, but they are not given any notice that they are subscribed already.
If a user is subscribed to a list and tried to subscribe again, a notice should be send out saying you are already on this list and provide links for updaing their preferences and subscriptions.
|Steps To Reproduce||Sign up for a list. Confirm. Repeat.|
|Additional Information||This would need a new Message & Subject for existing subscribers.|
|Tags||No tags attached.|
yes, good point. It won't require a new message. It can just return text in the page explaining the situation and then link to the page to "request the personal URL", which is already in the system.
||new option, SILENT_RESUBSCRIBE. Defaults to "true" to keep the existing behaviour|
