Summary0015455: Sidebar.php is not read
DescriptionI met this problem during I tried to reskin the admin interface.

As the menu (<span class=menulinkleft></span>) is built up from spans, I tried to make them more suitable html elements. I wanted to add
  • instead. I modified sidebar.php like that:

    from:
    ---
    $spb ='<span class="menulinkleft">';
    $spe = '</span>';
    ---

    to:
    ---
    $spb ='
  • ';
    $spe = '
  • ';
    ---

    I overwrote the old file and nothing happened, spans were still produced. I checked it, I uploaded the correct file. Then I simply deleted sidebar.php to see what happens. Well, there was no change, everything went on fine. It seems that sidebar.php's code is handled somewhere else or datas were stored somewhere else during first run. It's simply not needed by the application.

    I think that's a bug.

    System ate html tags, I correct this here.

    Correction:
    ---
    from:
    ---
    $spb ='<span class="menulinkleft">';
    $spe = '</span>';
    ---

    to:
    ---
    $spb ='<code>
  • </code>';
    $spe = '<code>
  • </code>';
    ---

    Sorry, still doesn't work. I try again. (Can you setup to be able to change issue records? That should be there in mantis as default.)

    ---
    from:
    ---
    $spb ='<span class="menulinkleft">';
    $spe = '</span>';
    ---

    to:
    ---
    $spb ='[li][/li]';
    $spe = '[li][/li]';
